Pork Leaf Lard is known as the highest grade of lard available. It is rendered from the fat around the kidneys and loin. Leaf lard is highly sought after for baking, especially for flaky crusts. This type of lard has very little pork taste so it's ideal for delicate dishes.

US Wellness Meats’ Pork Lard is not bleached, deodorized, hydrogenated, or altered. Although it is labeled as 'refined' per USDA requirements, it is simply rendered pork fat. Nothing has been done to or added to Pork Lard.

Each Pork Leaf Lard pail weighs between 1.7 - 2 pounds.

US Wellness Meats pigs are pasture-raised on family farms. They spend their entire lives roaming and rooting in green pastures. Pigs are foragers, and our pigs are outdoors every day (weather permitting) to forage for bugs, sticks, roots, etc.  Since pigs have a single stomach, unlike the four-chambered stomach of cattle, we cannot raise a healthy animal on grass alone, so their diets are supplemented with non-GMO grains. They have never been administered antibiotics or added growth hormones.
